Romans 15: 12-13
"And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and He that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in Him shall the Gentiles trust. Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost."
Jesus Christ, the Lord of lords and King of kings, was prophesied by the Old Testament prophet Isaiah as the way for gentiles (non Jews) to be saved.
One of the powerful truths of scripture is through the fulfillment of prophesy. Christ, our only way of salvation, is a descendent of King David, who was Jesse's son. The prophecies concerning the coming of Christ had come to pass proving the undeniable proof that scripture is the Word of God and can be trusted.
Through Christ we have access to God the Father and can be confident that He hears our prayers. Meditating upon this truth should provide all of us who believe in Christ great hope. The hope that we have in Christ comes from the Holy Spirit who is the author of our faith.
