It is very important to understand who Jesus Christ, the Messiah, is. We, as believers in Him, must understand His true nature.

John 1: 1-5

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not."

John 1:12-14

"But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."

He is God who walked upon the earth over 2,000 years ago as a man. A man who experienced all of the struggles and temptations we experience but was without sin.

He shed His precious blood, bore the sin of the world on the cross at Calvary, and died as the sacrificial Lamb so that we who believe in Him may receive eternal life.

Through faith in Christ, we are reconciled to the Father because of what Christ accomplished through His life and death.

However, it doesn't stop here. One of the most important aspects of this true story is the fact that He is risen from the grave!

He was raised from death to life and it is due to this resurrection that we can be confident that we too will receive eternal life in His name.
