Luke 14: 33-35
"So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.
Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned?
It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear."
It is obvious from the verses of scripture above that following Christ is a conscious decision that must be made and then followed through. Simply saying a prayer isn't enough to be truly saved as Christ explains when he says, "And whoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple." (Luke 14: 27).
Talk is easy and words are cheap if not followed up with action! In these end times where the Gospel is watered down and twisted up to fit the desires of men's hearts, we must remember that true faith in Christ prompts us to follow Him and engage in the battle each and every day (Ephesians 6).
